Updates: My Socurio - Connect Socurio with Facebook | share your art with your friends
We are pleased to announce to the launch of My Socurio, a Facebook application that extends your Socurio Loft onto your Facebook profile or fan page to share your art (for artists) and your collection (for everyone) with your friends. The release of this application marks the beginning of a large series of new features and site improvements that aim to make art more accessible to everyone.
Installing this application will create a My Socurio tab on your profile and/or fan page and will allow you to easily display, share, and connect your art with your friends and the Facebook community.
Not an artist? Don't worry, like Socurio, this application is for everyone. You can easily share the art that you have collected through Socruio.
Here are some quick and easy tips on how to be successful with the My Socurio application:
- Use Both: Install My Socurio on both your profile and your fan page (if you have one). Don't have a fan page? Maybe now is a good time to create one!
- Update your friends: After you install My Socurio, post an update to your friends. Nothing is easier than drawing people to your profile so that they can peruse your art conveniently through Facebook.
- Default Landing: If you have a fan page, make the My Socurio tab your default landing tab. Here is how. Click: edit page > wall settings > choose My Socurio from the drop down for default landing tab. Unfortunately you can only control this on fan pages, not your profile page.
- Position your tab: While you can't make it the default landing tab on your profile page, if you click-n-drag the tab, you can move it as far left as the third tab, right next to your wall and info tabs. Doing this will help your friends see your tab when they visit your profile.
- Don't be shy: Share your art and your collection often. Using the share button below each of your creations will allow you to post to your news feed or send your work in a personal message to someone. Don't like self-promotion? Ask your friends to help you!
- Write a review and give us feedback: Help us make this better! Facebook allows you to easily post reviews, dicussions, and problems that you are having with this application here: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=295458400478

Call for Artists | Los Angeles
Attention Los Angeles Artists. Socurio is looking for artists to feature selected work at our ARTintended launch event next week.
How to be considered:
All new member work posted to their profile will be be considered for featured displayed at the Socurio Launch Event next week: ARTintended (click for more info). A review of participating artists will take place on Tuesday, March 9 at 10am PST. Notification to the selected artists will be made by that Tuesday evening. All Socurio members and guests are invited and encouraged to attend the event!
About Socurio:
Socurio is an online art marketplace and creative community, which allows you to easily share, promote, and sell your work at a low cost. Socurio is a different concept for selling art in that you are posting your original art for sale to sell directly to the buyer. You name your work's price, your shipping cost, and then are responsible for completing the transaction should someone buy your work. The cost to you is a flat 5% commission fee on the price of the art itself, and the transaction process is completely automated through Socurio.com. Typically, there is a .35 cent posting fee for uploading the work you would like to sell. However, we are waiving this fee for the next few weeks.
Our goal at Socurio is to help you promote your work and make a living, while concentrating more on your art.

The Introduction of Socurio.com
Socurio was built in the back of a coffee shop in the downtown Los Angeles Artist District.Over two years, 2,345 mistakes, and 412 gallons of coffee has led to a product that may define what we were striving to accomplish from the beginning - a venue to make art more accessible to the world. Socurio aims to be a platform to combine all the pieces that we feel are necessary to create a community that works together to empower themselves and show the world the amazing things they are doing and creating and ultimately make a living from it Think of Socurio as a creative gift for your creative gift. I look forward to growing together in this exciting future!
